Tea With… Luigi Mondello

What’s better than a nice cup of tea and a chat?

By Rich Whitworth

Whilst at Riva 2014 (the 38th ISCC and 11th GCxGC Symposium), Rich Whitworth, editor of The Analytical Scientist, invited three key participants of the conference to take part in an exciting new video project: “Tea With...”, an ongoing series of informal interviews with key analytical scientists in glorious settings around the globe.

And who would be a more fabulous first interviewee than the Chair of Riva 2014 himself, Luigi Mondello? Set in the gardens of a beautiful old villa in Riva del Garda, Italy, our first video sees Luigi thanking Pat Sandra for the wonderful toy (Riva) and introducing his latest grand research project. Not to mention camera drone footage over the lake… Enjoy!

The 38th International Symposium on Capillary Chromatography (ISCC), the premier meeting for pressure and electrodriven microcolumn separations and related techniques, will be held May 18 - 23, 2014 in the Congress Centre, Riva del Garda, Italy.

The program will include plenary lectures, keynote lectures by young scientists, prominently featured poster presentations, an instrument exhibition displaying the latest instrumental innovations, and a highly attractive social program offering opportunities to meet with world-renown scientists.

The 11th GCxGC Symposium will be organized jointly with the ISCC meeting to allow scientists to attend both meetings. The symposium will start with a short course on Sunday May 18 covering the fundamentals and applications of comprehensive GCxGC and with a plenary session on Monday May 19. Key-note lectures and posters will be included in the program of the ISCC meeting.

Researchers in all areas relevant to the subjects of the symposia, are invited to submit abstracts. As traditional for the Riva meetings, the majority of presentations will be in poster format and the scientific committee will select contributions for oral presentation.

Exhibitors and sponsors are encouraged to participate by submitting abstracts, reserving booth space, and becoming a sponsor.

Please keep visiting our web site for new information as it becomes available.

Looking forward to meeting you in Riva del Garda,

Prof. L. Mondello
Chairman RIVA 2014
